Roke Manor Quarry Restoration & The Environment
The project involves a 30-year woodland management plan as part of the mitigation for dormice, which were found on site during early investigations. The site will involve a number of improvements to the natural habitat, including additional tree planting in accordance with the approved landscaping plan. We also monitor water levels in the area to ensure there are no impacts.
Being a greenfield site with no previous operations, a new entrance was required to be constructed to Hampshire County Council’s standards to provide access from the A27.
As part of the soil stripping, archaeological investigations were carried out in accordance with the agreed scheme of workings.
